An activist at heart, she has led impactful initiatives, including managing a 200-person volunteer group with the India Community Center, spearheading a major campaign to halt the deportation of an Indian teen DREAMER, organizing Know Your Rights and naturalization drives, and challenging ICE’s deportation plans for over 1,500 international students.

As part of SAAJCO, Kalpana is committed to safeguarding the civil, immigrant, and human rights of South Asians in the U.S. She aims to foster resilience, diversity, and self-advocacy within communities, while building partnerships with legal service agencies and community organizations to uphold SAAJCO’s values of equity, dignity, and justice.
