Sharmili Majmudar is the Executive Vice President of Policy, Programs, and Research at Women Employed, where she leads efforts to advance gender and racial economic equity. With over 25 years of experience, she has been a passionate advocate for gender equity, workplace fairness, pay equity, and access to education. Prior to joining Women Employed, Sharmili served as Executive Director of Rape Victim Advocates (now Resilience), supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She serves on the steering committee of the national Equal Pay Today Roundtable and the board of the VNA Foundation. A published poet and community leader, Sharmili holds degrees from George Washington University and Loyola University Chicago and lives in Oak Park with her wife and teenager.
