Leah Wong 

Voting Rights Director, AALDEF

Leah Wong is the Voting Rights Director at the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), a role she joined in September 2025. In this position, she leads voting rights advocacy and litigation efforts to protect and expand access to the ballot for Asian American communities nationwide, working at the intersection of law, community organizing, and policy advocacy.

Previously, Leah was an Attorney at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), where she focused on defending and advancing voting rights and racial justice through an integrated advocacy approach of litigation, community organizing, and policy advocacy. Prior to LDF, she served as a Deputy Associate Counsel in the Biden-Harris Administration, where she vetted and prepared presidential appointees and judicial candidates for Senate confirmation hearings.

During the 2020 presidential election, Leah served as a Regional Voter Protection Director for the Pennsylvania Democrats, organizing and overseeing thousands of volunteer lawyers on pre- and post-election administration and litigation issues. She has also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Kiyo Matsumoto on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and practiced at the law firm Latham & Watkins LLP.

Leah received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where she served as co-president of the American Constitution Society, Public Interest Chair for the Asian & Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and Development Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California. Leah is the proud daughter of immigrants and resides in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York.
