Engaged Communities Series, Host

Jordan Stalker is the Research and Strategic Development Advisor for SAAPRI. In addition, he teaches public relation and intercultural communication at DePaul University. He is also a visiting faculty member at the University of Idaho, where he teaches global journalism and media law. His teaching and research focuses on the experiences and representations of the South Asian American diaspora in the creative communication fields of film, television, public relations and advertising. Jordan’s communications industry experience includes time as a journalist, writer, website designer, copy editor, and production manager for healthcare, higher education, B2B, government and general interest publications and organizations. Jordan’s academic work has appeared in several scholarly journals, including The Journal of Communication, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism, and New Media and Society. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in media studies and from the University of Wisconsin with a PhD in Mass Communications. He lives in the Chicago suburbs with his family.
