Shreya Kareti is a rising 2L at Berkeley Law who is from Yuba City, California. She is always eager to learn and passionate about honoring South Asian immigrants and their stories. These core attributes converged in Shreya’s summer at SAAJCO. After spending her 1L year exploring asylum law, she was delighted to be able to expand her knowledge of immigration law through her summer at SAAJCO. In the future, she aims to continue civil rights and immigration work while pursuing a career in commercial litigation.
Shreya spent a large part of my summer developing SAAJCO’s culturally specific Know Your Rights programming. She is especially proud to have played a role in supporting the Nepali-speaking Bhutanese communities in central Pennsylvania and Ohio through this work.
