Maria Aykara

Maria Aykara is a rising 3L at the University of Houston Law Center and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. Witnessing the complexities of H-1B and F-1 visa processes firsthand inspired her to pursue a career in law focused on advocacy and access to justice. She serves as the President of the South Asian Law Students Association and the Treasurer of the Energy & Environmental Law Society. She previously served as a CASA advocate, representing children in the foster care system, and is currently a law clerk at Bailey Cowan Heckaman PLLC, where she supports plaintiff-side toxic tort and personal injury matters.
