Sunita Sohrabji

Sunita Sohrabji is the Health Editor at Ethnic Media Services. In her role, Sohrabji focuses on reporting and covering health issues that impact diverse ethnic communities, with a particular emphasis on addressing health disparities and promoting access to healthcare. She also produces EMS’ weekly Friday news briefings, addressing health care issues, disparities in health care access, the downstream drivers of health, and health equity. She also served as the associate editor for EMS’ Stop the Hate initiative, and reported on hate crimes against the Asian American community

Sohrabji formerly served as a general assignment reporter at India-West newspaper for over 15 years, with a focus on immigration issues and crimes against the Indian American community, particularly hate crimes. She has received 17 awards for excellence in journalism. First and foremost, Sohrabji is a proud single mom: her daughter Geethanjali now serves as an associate mental health clinician at a community health clinic in South Los Angeles.
